Symptoms of dog balanitis:

1. The dog often discharges light green pus and smegma from the foreskin hole, and licks the penis by itself.

2. The hyperplasia of penile lymphoid tissue is similar to a cyst, and the cyst cavity is filled with fluid. Mild stimulation (breeding, semen collection) can cause follicles to rupture and bleed, and sometimes even the entire mucosa bleeds.

3. If the dog suffers from frequent breeding or semen collection, and the follicles continue to change, hemorrhagic cysts covering the glans can form. This cyst can disappear on its own without leaving any traces after 1 week of stopping breeding.

Treatment for Balanitis in Dogs:

1. Rinse the foreskin with 1:4000 chlorhexidine solution, twice a day, and use antibiotic ointment after washing. For stubborn cases, use 200/0 copper sulfate solution to wash the foreskin mucous membrane.

2. Press the penis every day for 5-7 consecutive days to ensure no adhesions.

3. If lymphoid tissue hyperplasia occurs, stricter treatment is required.

4. Put the dog under general anesthesia, scratch the lesion with gauze, and corrode the lesion with 5% silver nitrate solution.

5. Use corticosteroid ointment every day, and observe whether adhesion and infection occur at the same time.
