Causes of ascites in dogs:

3. Liver parenchymal disorders: such as liver cirrhosis, liver abscess, substantive hepatitis, tumors, portal vein thrombosis, etc., make blood and lymph flow difficult, portal vein congestion, water seepage from the vessel wall, resulting in ascites.
