Causes of eczema in dogs:

1. Stimulated by various factors: under the action of external physical and chemical factors, such as mechanical oppression, friction, biting, scratching, mosquito bites; certain internal medicines, external medicines, and disinfectants. Unclean skin, dirt irritation, etc.

2. Poor feeding and management conditions: Factors such as damp kennels stimulate the body, causing skin allergies and eczema. Excessive intake of carbohydrates is more prone to eczema. There are also more diseases in seasons with higher temperature and higher humidity. In summer and autumn, especially in May-September, the incidence is the most.

3. Nutritional deficiency: If the dog lacks vitamins and trace elements, it will cause the dog's skin to have low resistance and also cause eczema.

Symptoms of dog eczema:

1. The main manifestation of acute eczema is red rash or pimples on the skin. The lesions start on the face and back, especially the bridge of the nose, eyes and cheeks, and easily spread to the surroundings to form small blisters. After the blisters are ruptured, local erosion occurs. Due to itching and wetness of the affected part, the animal is disturbed, licks and bites the affected part, and the symptoms of skin papules are aggravated.

2. Chronic eczema has thickened skin, lichenification, and dander due to the long course of the disease. Although skin moisturization has subsided, pruritus remains and may worsen. The most common clinical eczema is canine eczematous rhinitis. Lupus or pemphigus occurs in the nose of affected dogs, and the affected area is crusted, and sometimes serous and ulcers are seen; when systemic and disc lupus occurs, depigmentation and ulcers appear on the nose.

Treatments for dog eczema:

1. Intramuscular injection of penicillin and gentamicin can be used to prevent infection.

2. For cases with severe symptoms, it can be mixed with dexamethasone injection for intramuscular injection, twice a day. Apply fluocinolone acetate or triamcinolone acetate ointment to the affected area. To prevent skin infection, it can be applied alternately with erythromycin ointment.

3. Take the method of desensitization, 0.2 mg/kg body weight of dexamethasone tablet or 1.0 mg/kg body weight of prednisone acetate tablet can be taken orally. Apply Fusong or Dermatitis Ping ointment on the skin after decomposing the hair on the affected part. If the pus is inflamed, intramuscular injection of gentamicin and penicillin can be used to prevent infection.
