The dog is fine except for a dry nose

Everything is normal in dogs is the cause and solution of dry nose:

1. When the dog is outdoors for a long time and is exposed to direct sunlight, the moisture in the nose will evaporate quickly due to the high temperature, it will become dry, and it may be sunburned. The whole body of a dog is protected by fur, and the nose and foot pads are the most prone to sunburn in summer. When the owner takes it out to play, remember not to be active in the sun for a long time.

2. In areas with relatively dry weather in the north, or the heating is often turned on at home, because low air humidity will also make the dog's nose drier.

3. After strenuous exercise, the dog’s body will lose more water, because it needs to stick out its tongue frequently to dissipate heat during exercise, which will take away part of the body’s water, and the owner will also find that its nose and tongue will become relatively dry. Therefore, the owner should add water to the dog in time after exercising to avoid the impact of water shortage on the body.

4. When the dog wakes up from sleep, the nose will be a little dry, but this is normal. Because when they are not sleeping, they will lick their nose from time to time to keep it moist, which will make the nose more sensitive. This action is like a person unconsciously licking their lips when they feel dry. When they go into deep sleep, they can't lick their noses as often, so they're a little drier.

5. When a dog becomes an elderly dog, various body functions will decline, and the nose will become drier than that of a healthy adult dog, but this is a normal situation. What the owner should be alert to is whether there are other symptoms while the nose is dry, and remember to take the dog for regular physical examination.

6. Dogs with a dry nose may have a cold. Dogs will run a lot of nasal mucus when they catch a cold. Excessive nasal mucus will cause dehydration in the body, resulting in dry nose.

7. A dog’s dry nose may be due to getting angry. After a dog gets angry, his nose will be very dry, because the dog usually does not take in much water, so it will cause a dry nose.

8. If the dog has a dry nose, you can take the dog to check to see if the dog has skin diseases that cause nose infection or canine distemper and other infectious diseases, which will also cause the dog's nose to dry.
