Symptoms of conjunctivitis in dogs:
Acute conjunctivitis: mainly conjunctival hyperemia of the palpebral conjunctiva and fornix. For example, in the case of inflammation and bulbar conjunctiva, the inflammatory reaction is strong, and a small amount of serous, purulent or even pseudomembranous secretions of eye mucus can be seen, conjunctival swelling and pain, palpebral fissure narrowing or atresia.
Chronic conjunctivitis: papillae and follicles form on the surface of the conjunctiva, the swelling is not obvious, and the luster is lacking. Dry bulbar conjunctivitis caused by decreased tear secretion, showing blepharospasm.
Purulent conjunctivitis: Eczema occurs on the eyelid skin, and the dog will feel itchy, and the long course of the disease can cause corneal opacity. If the dog's eyes are itchy, try not to let the dog scratch it to avoid infection.
Prevention and treatment measures for canine conjunctivitis:
1. For simple conjunctivitis, the affected eye can be washed with 2-3% boric acid water or 0.1% Revonoel solution. If the exudate has decreased, 0.5-1% zinc sulfate solution can be used for eye drops, and Ravonole solution can be used for cold compress. If the pain is severe, 2% cocaine hydrochloride solution can be used for eye drops.
2. For suppurative conjunctivitis in dogs, after carefully cleaning the affected eye, apply tetracycline eye ointment, aureomycin eye ointment, etc.
