The difference between fungal and mite skin diseases in dogs
1. Appearance
Fungal skin disease: The affected area of fungal skin disease is generally oval or round, with a clear boundary with healthy skin. The surface layer is usually covered with loose and dry light gray scabs, which are easy to peel off. After peeling, the skin is smooth, and a large area will form after a long time ringworm class, the skin does not thicken.
Mite skin disease: The affected area has no regular shape, and the boundary with healthy skin is not very obvious. The skin in the affected area of the mite thickens and forms folds.
2. Symptoms
Fungal skin disease: a small abscess is formed under the secondary bacterial infection of the fungal skin scab. After the scab is removed, the damaged skin is honeycomb-like with many oozing holes, and the fungal itching is not strong.
Mite skin disease: After the skin of the mites forms small nodules, it turns into blisters. After breaking, yellow oily sticky substance oozes out. After drying, it forms fish scale scabs. After removing the scabs, the skin is bright red and moist with bleeding. The affected part of the mites produces severe itching.
3. Preventive measures
Fungal skin disease: The main treatment is oral antifungal drugs or topical antifungal ointment, which can be cured. If it is not treated in time or the treatment method is wrong, it will lead to the expansion of the infected area.
Mite skin disease: Appropriate supplementation of vitamin B can greatly improve skin resistance. Do not feed him seafood, cheese and other foods, which will stimulate mites. Keep the nest clean and dry, and it is best to disinfect it regularly. Sunbathe often, exercise more.
