Symptoms of gastric dilatation in dogs include abdominal pain howling, restlessness, belching, salivation and vomiting, shallow and fast breathing, tachycardia, conjunctival cyanosis, enlarged abdominal circumference, and palpation of abdominal animals shows pain. In severe cases, death may result from dehydration, acidosis, gastric rupture, and heart failure.

Treatment for gastric distension in dogs:

1. For analgesia, pethidine 1 mg/kg body weight can be used.

2. Empty the food in the stomach, you can take 5-10 ml of vinegar and 5-10 ml of paraffin oil lightly. Or 1-2 ml of lactic acid, 10 ml of paraffin oil, 1-2 times/day.

3. If the above methods are ineffective or gastric dilatation caused by gastric torsion, foreign bodies in the stomach and small intestinal obstruction, laparotomy can be performed to remove the cause. For severely dehydrated dogs, intravenous fluids, sugar, and alkali should be given.
