What to do if your dog suffers from heat stroke in summer

Treatment measures for dogs after heatstroke:

1. First untie the dog collar. Chest straps and other coverings, items that hang from the dog.

2. Quickly keep away from high temperature environment. Move the dog to a cool place, blow on an electric fan, and cool down with air-conditioning. If the dog is conscious, you can give an appropriate amount of drinking water. But don't force the crown.

3. If the above steps do not work. Dogs can be splashed with cold water. Or soak the dog in the water, but pay attention to support the dog's head with your hands and keep the neck above the water surface to avoid choking on the water. While soaking in water, you can gently massage the dog's whole body. Help to achieve the cooling effect, when the body temperature reaches 39 degrees, it can be stopped.

4. After the dog's body temperature is found to drop, quickly dry the dog's body with a large towel to prevent the body temperature from dropping too quickly. Do not use a hair dryer to prevent the hot air from causing the body temperature to rise again. Or a cold wind that causes a cold.

5. After the first aid treatment is completed, send the dog to the pet hospital quickly. Continue to observe and follow-up treatment.

Causes of heatstroke in dogs:

1. Putting pets in a closed car without turning on the air conditioner is a common cause of heat stroke.

2. When the summer is very hot, take the dog out to play, and strenuous exercise can easily cause the dog to suffer from heat stroke.

3. In hot summer, there is not enough drinking water for dogs.

4. In a closed room, in a dog cage, the temperature is too high and the ventilation is poor.

5. Dogs with dense hair and overweight are prone to heat stroke.

6. Put the dog on the balcony, stay in a high temperature environment for a long time, and there is no shade, which is most likely to cause heat stroke in the dog.
