2. Ensure that the female dog is in the resting period of heat. If the female dog is about to come into heat or is in the period of bleeding during heat, surgery should not be performed. During the heat period, the uterus of the female dog becomes thicker and more fragile, and blood vessels increase, which increases the risk of surgery. Neutering itself is a physiologically optional surgery, so the risk of surgery should be minimized. The surgery for male dogs is relatively simple, and there are not many requirements in this regard. It can be operated at any time.

3. Fasting for 8-12 hours before surgery and no drinking for 4-6 hours to prevent anesthesia-induced vomiting and increase the risks.

4. In case there are complications after the dog's surgery, the dog should be observed in the hospital for 1-2 days after the surgery, and hospital supplies (food bowl, water bowl, food, bedding, etc.) should be prepared. In addition, prepare sturdy transport tools such as sturdy cardboard boxes, wooden boxes, wooden boards, and corresponding bedding. After the dog wakes up from general anesthesia, it cannot move on its own and needs to be manually transported. Therefore, it is not recommended to carry it by hand, as it may touch the surgical incision and cause pain to the animal. 5. It is best to give the dog a bath 2-3 days before the surgery to maintain cleanliness and reduce infection.
