Treatment for foreign body pneumonia in dogs:

1. Exclude foreign bodies: Let the sick dog lie on its back and raise its hind feet so that foreign bodies can be coughed out. At the same time, subcutaneous injection of 0.2-1 ml of 2% pilocarpine hydrochloride can increase the secretion of the trachea and promote the rapid discharge of foreign bodies.

2. Oxygen infusion: When the dog has difficulty breathing, oxygen inhalation should be performed. Antibacterial treatment can be timely injection of penicillin, streptomycin, erythromycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, tetracycline, or compound sulfamethoxazole tablets.

3. Inject drugs into the trachea: You can try 4% formaldehyde solution or 5% menthol liquid paraffin oil 2~3ml, 2 times a day, 4 times as a course of treatment.

Common causes of foreign body pneumonia in dogs:

1. Dysphagia and forced dosing in dogs are the most common causes of foreign body pneumonia.

2. When the dog has a history of pharyngitis, pharyngeal paralysis, esophageal obstruction, and encephalopathy accompanied by disturbance of consciousness, it is prone to swallowing due to difficulty in swallowing, which may cause foreign body pneumonia.

3. Foreign matter enters the lungs, initially causing inflammation of the bronchi and pulmonary lobules, and then aggravating the condition.
