Prevention and treatment of dog constipation:

1. Laxatives are given at the initial stage, combined with abdominal massage and enema, which has a therapeutic effect. For laxative treatment, 20-50 grams of sodium sulfate or magnesium sulfate can be added, and 100-150 ml of water can be added for one feeding; for safety, 50-100 ml of vegetable oil or paraffin oil can be used for feeding, and 500-1000 ml of warm soapy water or paraffin wax can be used. Oil 200~500ml enema. Large dogs can take 1~2 Guodao tablets orally, and small dogs can use Kaisailu to pour into the rectum.

2. When the constipation lasts too long and drug treatment is ineffective, laparotomy can be performed to defecate. In late cases, surgical treatment is usually ineffective due to extensive congestion, edema, and necrosis in the bowel.

3. For secondary constipation, the primary disease should also be actively treated at the same time.
