Mexican Rusty Tailed Tarantula (scientific name: Brachypelmaepicureanum) is native to the tropical rainforests in southeastern Mexico. It is a species closely related to the Mexican Red Tail within the Brachypelma genus.
Chinese name: Mexican Rusty Tail

suitable temperature: 28~30℃
suitable humidity: 80%
lifestyle: terrestrial
1. Emaciation
When you find that the surface of the spider becomes dull, and the skin begins to dry and turn yellow, it is likely that emaciation has occurred. This condition is usually caused by the spider not eating well and suffering from malnutrition for a long time.
2. Enteritis
In contrast to emaciation, this condition is caused by overeating. If the owner keeps feeding the spider or feeds it with food at a low temperature, it can cause bloating and abdominal pain in the spider, eventually leading to enteritis.
3. Hemiplegia
The spider does not require a high environmental demand, but when the temperature is too high, especially in the summer when it is hot and humid, if the spider's cage is too far from the ventilation outlet, it can cause the spider to experience heatstroke-like symptoms and paralysis of the legs, resulting in hemiplegia.
4. Constipation
Constipation is mostly caused by a lack of drinking water. In addition to eating, spiders also need water. If the owner only feeds the spider without giving it water, the moisture in the food is not sufficient to provide the spider with the necessary hydration.
5. Black Rot Disease
Lack of appetite and activity, a black decaying ulcerative lesion appears on the abdomen. This is the manifestation of spider black rot disease. The reason for this situation is that the water and food are not fresh, and the spider will contract black rot disease if it eats food contaminated with bacteria. In severe cases, it can lead to death.
6. Mold Spots
Especially in the south, during the hot and humid weather in the summer, the spider's body surface is prone to bacterial invasion. The spider's joints become increasingly stiff, and its body becomes increasingly damp. Bacteria thrive and reproduce in such an environment, resulting in the appearance of mold spots on the spider.
7. Parasites
Parasites can be said to be the most disgusting disease for spiders. If it is small insects, it's fine, but those rampant parasites will crawl on the spider's body, which looks extremely disgusting. It not only affects the spider's rest, but may also carry other viruses, causing multiple infections and threatening the spider's life.
It is recommended to use moist peat moss/coconut coir/clay as the substrate for breeding. For feeding, breadworms, giant mealworms, cherry roaches, and Dubia roaches are recommended (long tweezers are recommended for feeding after a certain size). They are relatively docile, but there is still a possibility of being bitten.
