The Israeli Scorpion (Israeli Murder Scorpion) is a highly venomous scorpion native to Israel and is famous for its ferocious behavior and potent venom. 1. Keep the temperature right: When the temperature is below 15°C, the scorpion enters a dry and dormant state, ceasing or slowing down its growth. When the temperature exceeds 40°C, the scorpion desperately seeks moisture, sometimes even leading to death. Therefore, the optimum temperature for scorpion growth and development is between 25°C and 30°C.
2. Control the humidity: Scorpions prefer dry environments and dislike dampness. The ideal relative humidity is 45% to 50%. The moisture content of the sand should be between 15% and 20%, with the sand neither too dry nor too wet, and people should not feel stuffy in the scorpion habitat. It is particularly important to avoid excessive moisture in the sand, as it can cause scorpions to contract a disease from dust mites, leading to death.
3. Provide sufficient drinking water: Successful scorpion rearing depends on keeping them hydrated. If there is a lack of water supply, scorpions may become too dry and suffer from dehydration, leading to cannibalism and death. Therefore, it is recommended to use a sponge to absorb clean or cold water and place it in the scorpion enclosure daily. Every 3 to 5 days, an antibiotic such as tetracycline or sulfonamide can be added to the scorpion's drinking water. Dissolve one tablet of the antibiotic in about 4 kilograms of cold boiled water, soak the sponge in the solution, and place it in the scorpion enclosure.
Temperature Range: 25-32 degrees Celsius, suitable for desert scorpion species, humidity should not be too high. This species is internationally recognized as the most venomous scorpion, with fast movements and strong aggressiveness, but the small amount of venom makes it unlikely to be lethal. It is recommended to prepare a long iron clamp for safety.
Use spider sand or calcium sand as bedding materials, no need for special watering. This scorpion grows slower than other scorpions but has a longer lifespan. Israeli Scorpion is easy to care for and can be a good choice for beginners. Mealworms, superworms, cherry cockroaches, and pinhead crickets can be used as feed.
Do not overfeed, just give the scorpion enough food. It often eats so much that people think it will burst...
