The Kenya Orange Scorpion (Latin name: Odonturusdentatus) is native to the semi-desert areas of Kenya in Africa. It has a fierce temperament and highly toxic venom (strong). It grows very quickly and can reach a maximum body length of about 7 centimeters. This variety ranks third in terms of toxicity. Although its venom is also very powerful, it is not as dangerous as the top two varieties. The reason is that it does not have as strong of an attacking tendency as the other varieties mentioned above, and more importantly, its size and venom quantity are less than those of the aforementioned varieties. However, this should not be taken lightly, as it is still the third deadliest scorpion.

Black abdominal disease: The main symptoms are blackening of the scorpion's abdomen, abnormal feces, inactivity, and loss of appetite. This disease generally occurs in winter or early spring, mainly due to low external temperature and high humidity, resulting in excessive moisture in the scorpion's body. Reasonably increasing the temperature of the scorpion nest and reducing humidity can prevent the occurrence of this disease.
Corrupt body disease: The main symptoms are swelling and darkening of the scorpion's abdomen, loss of appetite, inactivity, and subsequent decay of the whole body, leading to mass death. This disease is mainly caused by deteriorated feed or unclean water. It can be treated with antibacterial drugs such as loperamide and a small amount of yeast tablets. Pay special attention to environmental and dietary hygiene to prevent the occurrence of this disease.
Scabies disease: The main symptoms are extreme restlessness of the scorpion, with tiny yellow granules of mites lurking in the chest and abdomen, which gradually torture the scorpion to death. This disease is mainly caused by excessive humidity in the dry scorpion nest. To prevent this disease, a 1% bleach solution and a 3.5% potassium permanganate solution can be sprayed on the scorpion nest for disinfection, or a 4.5% formalin solution can be used for disinfection.
Withering disease: The main symptoms are yellowing of the scorpion's tail, flatness of the front abdomen, and lack of luster. This disease is mainly caused by long-term water shortage in the scorpion. As long as attention is paid to water supply, and the humidity of the scorpion nest is kept moderate, the occurrence of this disease can be avoided.
1. With good seeds, it will be easier to raise them. Scorpions like warm environments. When male and female scorpions mate, the temperature of the scorpion room should be adjusted to around 37 degrees Celsius. Female scorpions can give birth quickly, and the young scorpions born are easier to survive.
2. Young scorpions and adult scorpions should not be raised together as they have different temperature requirements. The temperature for young scorpions should be below 32 degrees Celsius and above 25 degrees Celsius, while for adult scorpions, the temperature should be below 40 degrees Celsius and above 35 degrees Celsius. Therefore, they must be raised separately.
3. The scorpion room can have a cement floor or a regular soil floor. Cement floors tend to be dry and can easily evaporate water vapor. Scorpions prefer warm places, but they should not be too dry. You can hang a wet cloth curtain in the cement pool. If the cloth curtain dries out, wet it again to keep the air in the pool moist.
4. If it is a regular soil floor, the air will be more humid because the soil floor itself contains moisture. It is important not to let the ground be wet. If there is water on the ground without sunlight, it will become damp. Dampness can also affect the lifespan of scorpions.
5. In winter, the weather is very cold. It would be best if the scorpion room has heating, especially in the southern region where there is less heating in winter compared to the northern region. During winter, scorpions should hibernate in a heated room.
