400 million years. According to fossil evidence, primitive cockroaches appeared on Earth about 400 million years ago during the Silurian period. The fossils of cockroaches that we have found, whether in coal or amber, are not much different from those found in cabinets. Its appearance has not changed much over millions of years.
Loved by climbing pet crowd suggest to raise, the optimal temperature range for roach activity is 28~33℃. In a dark and noiseless environment with suitable temperature and humidity, roaches are most active, have the largest appetite, grow the fastest, and have the strongest reproductive capacity.
One defense against pesticide damage: Cockroaches are very sensitive to various pesticides such as imidacloprid, carbaryl, dichlorvos, and malathion. The place where beekeeping cockroaches are kept prohibits the use of pesticides.
Two defenses against diseases: Defending against diseases includes preventing cockroach's own diseases and preventing cockroaches from becoming hosts for other pathogens. Pay attention to the environmental and dietary hygiene of cockroaches.
Three defenses against natural enemies: Rats, bats, ants, etc. all eat cockroaches. Pay attention to preventing natural enemies from invading during the breeding process.
One insulation: using greenhouse box breeding method, maintaining a temperature environment of 28-33°C throughout the year.
Two water conservation: water is more important to cockroaches than food. Cockroaches will die if they are deprived of water for 2 days during the nymph stage. The tank should always have water.
Three food conservation: in order to promote the rapid development, strength, and reproductive capacity of cockroaches, the feed trough must not run out of food, especially at night, it must be fed until they are full.
Four moisture conservation: the relative humidity in the living environment of cockroaches should be above 70%. If it is too dry, some water should be sprayed.
Five peace and quiet: keep the cockroaches away from noise and do not disturb them.
Six darkness: the place where cockroaches are bred should have dim lighting, using dark rooms and dark boxes for breeding.
