Wang JinShe (scientific name: Elaphecarinata) is a species of snake in the Colubridae family, Elaphe genus. It has a sturdy body, with adults measuring over 200 centimeters in length. The snout scale is wider than it is high, and there are obvious dorsal sections. The nasal scale is square-shaped, with a length slightly greater than its width. The frontal scale is smaller in length than in width, and its groove is slightly larger than the groove of the nasal scale. The frontal scale is shield-shaped, with a length slightly greater than the distance between it and the snout scale. The top scale is larger than the frontal scale, with a smaller groove length than the frontal scale. There is significant variation in color patterns between individuals. Most individuals have large black crossbands in the anterior to midsection of the body, while the posterior section and tail often have a black net-like pattern due to the black color of the scale grooves. The ventral surface is yellow, with the edges of the ventral scales appearing black. The scales on the tail are distinctly raised.
Wang JinShe's head is brownish-yellow on the back, while the black on the edge and groove of the scales forms a letter-shaped black spot, hence the name. The ventral side of Wang JinShe is yellow, with black spots on the posterior margin of the ventral scales and black color on the back, mixed with yellow spots, resembling cauliflower, so it is commonly known as "oilseed rape flower"; and because its anal glands emit a strange odor, it is also called "stinky yellow throat".
On August 1, 2008, Wang JinShe was listed in the "List of Terrestrial Wildlife under State Protection with Benefit, Important Economic and Scientific Research Value" by the State Forestry Administration. In addition, this species is also listed as a key protected wildlife species in Hunan Province.
Suggested snake lovers can raise, Wang JinShe breeding, Wang JinShe artificial breeding techniques! Wang JinShe is a large non-toxic snake, also known as the king snake, cauliflower snake, with a relatively large body, can grow up to 20 kilograms! Wang JinShe has a large body and more meat, mainly used for snake breeding, the medicinal value has not been developed. However, now it is forbidden to eat wild animals, so the breeding industry of Wang JinShe can only be abandoned, it is impossible to feed Wang JinShe anymore.
Vomiting after eating
The severity of the condition can vary. The main causes of vomiting are:
- Low environmental temperature
- Playing or moving the snake improperly after eating
- Consuming food that is too large
- Internal parasites
- Gastroenteritis
- Bacterial infectious diseases
Examine the snake's breeding environment, temperature, and determine the cause to come up with countermeasures. If it is caused by a disease, it should be taken to a veterinarian for treatment.
Mouth inflammation
It is a common disease in snakes. In the early stage, the symptoms include inability to close the mouth, white foam or mucus in the mouth, internal redness and swelling, reduced appetite, and later the mouth may swell and deform. Severe cases may cause necrosis of the jaw due to suppuration, leading to death. If early signs of the disease are found, appropriate diagnosis and treatment by a veterinarian should be sought. The main causes are infected wounds or lack of nutrition (Vitamin C*), and lower temperatures and poor environmental hygiene can also make the oral mucosa prone to infection and inflammation.
Pneumonia
It is a respiratory system infection and the most threatening disease to snakes' lives. The main causes are:
- Large temperature changes in the environment
- Contaminated air
- Stuffy and poorly ventilated environment
- Sudden drop in temperature
- Poor environmental hygiene
Wang JinShe's offspring should be given some vitamin B water first to promote the excretion of feces. When they feel hungry, it will be easier for them to open their mouths. Wang JinShe snake offspring are active and lively. They can often be seen searching for food and wandering around the feeding box. The food can be placed in a plate where they can easily reach it. If the feeding tank is large, it is recommended to place several feeding points so that they can come into contact with the food.
For the food given when Wang JinShe young snakes start to open their mouths, freshly hatched quails or small chicks can be minced and fed. Adding some live quail seedlings can lure the young snakes to prey. For those that haven't started to open their mouths later on, it is best to use baby mice to reliably initiate feeding. Red baby mice are the favorite food of Wang JinShe snakes. For those that still don't open their mouths, they can only be force-fed and then gradually let them hunt on their own. However, after force-feeding, they basically won't open their mouths by themselves, and many snakes still need to be continuously force-fed.
