Black Russian Terrier, originated in Russia, is a powerful large-sized dog breed. It was once used as a guard dog for protection.
This breed has a calm and confident temperament, is highly intelligent, trustworthy, easy to train, has strong judgment and high alertness. It is reserved towards strangers and appears somewhat distant in attitude. The ultimate goal of breeding this dog is for guarding and protection.
This dog must have a massive frame and heavy bones. The females are obviously gentler, but not weak in physicality.
The earliest history of the Black Russian Terrier can be traced back to the 1940s. At that time, due to the needs of customs and the military, breeds such as Airedales, Rottweilers, and Giant Schnauzers were crossed with native black terriers to create this desired breed.
The goal was to obtain the determination and ease of training from the Airedale, the large size and fierce spirit from the Giant Schnauzer, and the robust physique and stable temperament from the Rottweiler. In terms of appearance, the resulting dog bred through this method has little difference in fur from an untrimmed Giant Schnauzer or a Bouvier des Flandres. By 1981, this new breed of dog was recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The Black Russian Terrier is suitable for living in urban apartments, but it is best to provide them with a good and spacious living environment.
This dog still maintains a good guard nature and is suitable for being kept as a guard dog or watchdog.
Due to its strong physique, it is more suitable for experienced dog owners, especially those who have plenty of free time to train them.

1, Do not bathe frequently
When bathing a dog, of course, it should not be too frequent. The frequency of bathing a dog depends on the dog's hygiene condition. In hot weather, bathe the dog more often, and in winter, you can reduce it. However, it should not exceed 5 times in total. Otherwise, it will damage its fur and skin!
2, Brush frequently
Dogs shed almost every day, especially in spring and autumn. If you want the hair to grow well, frequent brushing is an important step. Pet owners can use a pet-specific comb to help the dog clean naturally shed hair and avoid tangling. Brush the dog once in the morning and once in the evening, each time for about five minutes.
3, Sunbathe
Sunbathing is beneficial to the growth of dog's hair. In addition to making the hair more shiny, letting the dog sunbathe can also help kill bacteria. While sunbathing, the pet owner can let the dog get some exercise, which can improve the dog's physical fitness, promote blood circulation, and help grow healthier hair.
4, Deworming
Poor hair condition is actually closely related to parasites. Parasites will absorb a large amount of nutrients from the dog's body, so deworming is vital. It is recommended to do internal and external deworming together. Deworming drugs can cause great harm to the dog's gastrointestinal tract, so it is advisable to feed probiotics together to relieve gastrointestinal discomfort.
5, Pay attention to diet
In order to have beautiful hair, the dog must have a good nutritional foundation and pay attention to daily diet. On the one hand, feed the dog with nutritious and healthy dog food, choose a brand that is suitable for the dog and has sufficient nutrition to meet the dog's needs; on the other hand, you can give the dog an appropriate amount of lean meat, cooked egg yolks, and vegetable oil.
