1. Tumor
Pet symptoms: When stroking the pet, a noticeable protrusion appears in a certain part of the pet's body, and over time, the protrusion becomes larger.
The Hamster, like humans, can develop tumors when there are abnormal cells in the body, and they can be benign or malignant. When a tumor is found to grow on the hamster's body, it needs to be diagnosed by tissue section examination to determine the nature of the tumor. If the tumor is malignant, surgery is required. However, after the operation, there is still a chance for malignant cells to spread to other parts, causing tumor metastasis and recurrence.
2. Skin disease
Pet symptoms: Hamsters may have hair loss, scratching, redness, and shedding of the skin.
First, keep the environment clean and dry, actively consult a pet doctor, and seek good medical advice; finally, conduct related examinations such as skin microscopy for the pet, determine the skin problem, and then apply corresponding medication.
3. Heart disease
Pet symptoms: Loss of appetite, poor physical activity, and breathing difficulties.
If a hamster shows the above symptoms, it may be suspected of having heart disease. Consult a pet doctor actively and, after professional consultation from the doctor, conduct detailed examinations. For example, X-ray examination can be used to observe whether the hamster has diseases such as cardiac hypertrophy. After the diagnosis is confirmed, in order to stabilize the condition, treatment can be done using cardiac stimulants, vasodilators, and other methods.
4. Malocclusion
Symptoms: Drooling, inability of the mouth to close completely, loss of appetite, etc.
Suggested treatment: To prevent malocclusion in hamsters, you can frequently provide them with harder food or mineral stones to grind their teeth. If malocclusion is found in hamsters, a veterinarian should be sought to file their teeth.
5. Constipation
Pet symptoms: A significant decrease in bowel movements or even no bowel movements.
When the pet's living environment changes, hamsters may experience constipation. In addition, hamsters may also suffer from constipation due to bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections.
First, keep the cage clean. Secondly, provide the pet with fresh and fiber-rich food, and give enough water. Treat symptomatically under professional veterinarian guidance. If the condition is severe, seek medical treatment promptly.
6. Cold
Pet symptoms: Drooping ears, lethargy, wet nose, weak activity.
Once a hamster catches a cold, it must not be delayed, and treatment should be started as soon as possible. If the problem is not serious, you can try using some anti-inflammatory drugs. However, the dosage must be controlled. Hamsters can prevent colds by feeding them foods containing vitamin C appropriately in their daily diet. At the same time, take appropriate measures to keep them warm and do not place the cage in a windy place.

4. Keep the cage closed at all times, as hamsters are escape enthusiasts and can easily get injured after escaping.
5. Do not feed them human food, which contains excessive salt and heavy seasonings, which can increase the burden on their bodies.
6. Do not wash the hamster's body with water.
