Mongolian Gerbil, also known as the Long-clawed Gerbil, is a small grassland animal. It is distributed in Inner Mongolia and its neighboring provinces, including the northern part of Hebei Province, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and other grassland areas. It usually weighs no more than 100 grams during maturity, with a body length of 97 to 132 millimeters and a tail length of 97 to 106 millimeters. Its back fur is brown-gray, while its belly fur is grayish-white. It has distinct ears with long grayish-white hair on the anterior edge and short hair on the inner tip, some of which are bare. There is dense fur on the tail, with longer hair at the tip forming a tassel. The claws are long and curved, with tapered ends, suitable for digging holes. The hind feet and palms are covered in fine hair, and its eyes are large and round.
