European Burmese Cat is an elegant but not delicate cat. They have proper conformation, medium-sized muscular bodies, and expressive eyes. Due to their intelligence, affection, and loyalty, European Burmese cats make excellent pets.
This breed was selected as one to be further propagated. Breeds from the United States were spread to eastern England, resulting in a breed with the same lack of Siamese genes. From then on, the development of this breed took different paths, leading to two very different cats, both sharing a common ancestor. The most obvious difference is the fact that the color genes of the European Burmese are stable. The red gene is an additional color gene that may have been introduced intentionally or accidentally. In England, the Siamese cats had many colors, including red points, so the introduction of this gene could present four colors (brown, chocolate, blue, and lilac) and cultivate various colors including red, cream, brown, tortoiseshell, chocolate tortie, blue tortie, and lilac tortie, creating differences between the two Burmese cat breeds. The European Burmese cat is an elegant and gentle cat with rounded contours, while the Burmese cat has a compact and rounded appearance. The shape of the eyes in the two breeds is also different. The topline of the European Burmese cat slopes slightly towards the nose and eyes. The eyes of the Burmese cat should have a round pupil. These two breeds of Burmese cats are the same in temperament and nature.
It is recommended for cat lovers to raise European Burmese cats. They are very intelligent, affectionate, and loyal, making them excellent pets.
1. Soft Stool
Soft stool is common in cats. Normal stool is brownish in color, formed and moist with a proper consistency.
Causes: catching a cold, changing food, poor food quality, stress reaction, parasites, etc.
Symptoms: soft, sticky, unformed, watery stool.
Solution: If it is caused by parasites, it is recommended to deworm. If it is a stress reaction due to a new environment, it is not a big problem. It is recommended to observe for a few more days. For dietary reasons, do not change cat food frequently to reduce gastrointestinal burden. Additionally, pay attention to controlling the amount of food, feed small meals multiple times a day, and feed on a scheduled basis. Also, ensure clean and fresh drinking water. Do not feed cats with mineral water as it can lead to urinary stones.
2. Depression
Cats are sensitive animals, and depression is a common condition.
Causes: lack of companionship, the loss of a companion, abuse, prolonged confinement, etc.
Symptoms: loss of appetite, lying down all day, hiding, sensitive and irritable, timid.
Solution: Cat depression is a mental problem. It is recommended for owners to spend more time with their cats. Use snacks or interactive toys to interact with them on a regular basis, and try to reduce the cat's stress.
Hygiene: Due to the abundance of fur on cats, they are prone to carrying various bacteria and fleas. In order to ensure the health of the cats and their owners, regular bathing and grooming of the fur should be carried out.
Diet: Different cats have different food preferences. Owners should not randomly choose cat food on the market for convenience. Instead, they should carefully select cat food based on the type, growth condition, and physical condition of the cats. Special utensils should also be prepared for the cats.
Health: Just like humans, cats can also get sick. When cats are sick, they should be taken to specialized animal hospitals for treatment. Regular physical examinations and vaccinations should also be conducted. Only when the cats are in good health can they have the energy to play with their owners.
Safety: There is a saying that "curiosity killed the cat." Cats are restless creatures and are always very curious about various things. Their nature also leads them to be particularly fond of entering enclosed spaces. Therefore, owners must close doors, windows, and lids to prevent cats from getting into potential danger.
Living Environment: Cats love to lounge around and sleep, so as owners, they should prepare a small cushion for them to sleep on. However, these cushions can accumulate a lot of bacteria after being used by cats for a long time, so regular cleaning and disinfection should be carried out.
Cat Litter: The problem of pets defecating and urinating everywhere has troubled many pet owners. However, cats are actually very clean animals, so as long as the owners provide them with cat litter, the cats will take care of their own toilet needs.
Cats are sensitive creatures and they get annoyed when they are forced to do something. Therefore, owners should trim the cats' nails regularly to prevent scratches and infections while playing with them.
Grooming Time: Recommended every three days
1. Relax the cat: Before grooming, you can first give the cat a massage service. After the kitten purrs, continue with the following steps;
2. Brush along the fur: From the back → waist → buttocks → tail; you can use a small amount of water to wet the cat's fur to reduce static electricity. Brush along the direction of hair growth, from top to bottom;
3. Brush from chest to abdomen: Hold the cat, sit on your lap in a human posture, and brush from top to bottom. The cat's belly is more sensitive, so the cat owner must be quick and accurate when grooming;
4. Brush the cat's head and face area: You can brush from the cat's head or face towards the neck, but be careful with the cat's eyes;
5. Hair under the armpits and on the abdomen: At this time, the cat can lie on its side, lift the cat's front paws, and brush from the armpits to the sides of the abdomen;
6. Finally, use a comb to brush again, remove excess hair, and straighten the cat's fur to complete the entire process.
