Red Wolf Dog, also known as Xiangxi Red Wolf Dog or Xiangxi Wolf Dog, is a newly bred hybrid dog developed by folk individuals, private breeders, and enthusiasts in the Xiangxi region of Hunan. The Red Wolf Dog is mainly formed by a small number of hybrid wolf dogs. After multiple generations of crossbreeding, the color genes of some dog breeds have mutated, and it has also been mixed with the genetic fusion of other similar red-haired dog breeds. After long-term and repeated selective breeding, the unique fur color of the present has been formed.
